Although their diet consists mainly of leaves, fruit, flowers, and seedlings, they are omnivorous scavengers and will also eat other dead crabs and birds. (21) ______.

At the beginning of the annual wet season, the crabs migrate from their forest habitat to the coast to breed. After mating, the males return to the forest, but the females remain on the beach for another two weeks, after which they lay their eggs – up to 100,000 of them – in the ocean at high tide.
